How the project moves forward

On-site measuring for bespoke furniture in Barcelona

Your own measurements help with an initial estimate. Before manufacture, we inspect the space again and record details a quick tape measure and photograph can miss.

Project process

What the site measurement covers

A visit turns approximate dimensions into measurements and observations shared across design, making and fitting.

01

Walls and junctions

Dimensions are taken at several heights and positions. A recess may narrow or widen along its length.

02

Floor and ceiling

Levels, skirting, suspended ceilings and mouldings determine support and finishing details.

03

Services

In kitchens, bathrooms and living rooms we locate sockets, pipes, drainage, ventilation and access points.

04

Doors and movement

Door and drawer swings are checked against walkways and neighbouring furniture.

05

Building access

Entrance, staircase, lift and unloading space affect module dimensions and the fitting plan.

06

Unfinished works

If flooring or partitions will change, we mark the dimensions that must be checked again before cutting.

Project thinking

From rough sizes to manufacturing dimensions

The visit comes when a first idea needs to become a buildable proposal. During a renovation, its timing matters.

01

Before the visit

Photographs, municipality, rough dimensions and intended use allow a first assessment. They also tell us what to inspect and whether a particular stage of renovation should finish first.

02

Walls are rarely perfect

Older flats in Eixample or Gràcia can have uneven walls, skirting and junctions invisible in a straight-on picture. We note these to design scribed pieces or adjustments without misaligning the doors.

03

Dimensions of integrated equipment

Ovens, washing machines and televisions need specific model references. Ventilation, sockets and maintenance access shape the opening as much as outside width.

04

Access before cutting parts

We check how pieces enter the building. If a full-wall wardrobe cannot fit a lift, it is broken into modules that can travel and then align in the room.

05

If building works change

A new floor, lining or relocated service can invalidate earlier measurements. Changes should be reported so drawings, price and schedule can be reviewed before manufacture.

Questions about on-site measuring for bespoke furniture

Are my measurements enough for an estimate?+

Yes, with photographs and a description of use. Final manufacturing sizes are verified on site.

Should the visit happen before or after renovation?+

It depends on what will change. Floors, walls or services may call for a later check.

Do you check the lift?+

Yes, when the size of components or building access may affect delivery and fitting.

Start with the details you have

Send rough sizes and room photographs

Include the municipality, floor level, lift access and any building work still underway. We can then plan measurement at the right stage and tell you which appliance references are useful.
