Made-to-measure work involves choices. We make them easier to follow by recording responsibilities, approvals and the current version of the scope.
Before committing
Ask questions and send the information you have. A useful first reply should clarify feasibility and the next decision, not pressure you into choosing a finish.
During design
Layout, material and cost are kept connected. If one changes, its effect on the others is explained.
Before manufacture
Measurements, specification, access and the relevant approvals are confirmed. The workshop should not be resolving open design questions.

Narrow lifts and stair turns can change the largest safe part size and the order in which the piece is assembled. We settle that before workshop breakdown, so visible divisions remain intentional.
Daylight, sheen and grain
Material approval takes place in context wherever possible. One relevant factor is tall ceilings, so a screen image cannot be the final colour standard.
