Start with the contents
Before choosing a runner, ask what the drawer will hold: cutlery, pans, clothes or files. Expected weight and cabinet depth determine load class and length. “Soft-close drawer” alone omits much of what matters in everyday use.
Door movement
A hinge must suit the front’s size and weight. Nearby walls, handles and cabinets also matter: a door that opens too far can strike another piece. We identify system and quantity where these affect cost or function.
Useful accessory or costly extra?
Corner units, lift systems and pull-outs can improve access, but occupy volume and increase cost. We compare their genuinely usable capacity with a simpler arrangement. Not every awkward space needs a complicated mechanism.
