Glass and mirrors change the light in a cabinet or wardrobe, but their position calls for more than a colour choice. Dimensions, edges, fixings and glass type are set before ordering a component.
Materials and finishes
A useful choice only when it suits the brief
The right decision connects appearance with construction and maintenance. For projects in Barcelona, we also check the actual light, access and conditions in the room.
A mirror on a wardrobe
A full-height mirror needs a support, fixing and opening system that suit the door’s weight.
Fluted or translucent glass
It can pass light while softening the view inside. Compare a sample in the room’s actual lighting.
Display shelves
Length, thickness, supports and load are specified together. Appearance alone cannot size the glass.
Edges and holes
Shape and machining are agreed before the glass is processed. Pull and hinge positions need to be settled in time.
Cleaning around the frame
Care must account for seals, frames and the mirror backing as well as the face. Avoid liquid sitting at the edges.

A decorative mirror, door and shelf have different requirements; glass is chosen for its exact position.
Safety follows location
Saint-Gobain distinguishes toughened and laminated safety glass. The right solution depends on size, use, fittings and project requirements; “safety glass” alone is not a complete specification. We confirm the product with the glass supplier for each component.
Reflection and privacy
A clear front may show items you would rather hide, while a mirror multiplies light and movement. In a narrow hall or lit cabinet, view samples before choosing clear, fluted, tinted or mirrored glass.
Weight and fixing
A glazed door adds load to both mechanism and cabinet. Hinges, profile, supports and door swing are checked together. For shelves, thickness and bearings follow expected load and the length of the span.
Agree dimensions early
Holes, cuts and edges belong to the fabrication plan. They must coordinate with handles, lighting and fittings before glass is ordered; late changes may require a new pane. An approved cutting schedule accompanies the quote.
Care of the whole assembly
Cleaner for glass or mirrors should not collect at seals or backing. Edge protection and retention matter as much as the visible face. Final care advice follows the exact product installed.
