“A wall of living-room storage sounded simple until we looked at the access and the existing services. We wanted to hide the router and cables while keeping books and a few objects visible. Because the room is in Barcelona, we asked specifically about uneven historic walls; it was covered in the proposed sequence. Those constraints were dealt with in the drawings, so fitting day was calm and well organised. We were shown a physical sample beside the existing floor. That changed our mind about the colour, fortunately before production.”

“We contacted the studio about a compact kitchen. The brief was quite specific: gain worktop space and place food, pans and appliances where they are reached. The survey in Barcelona also picked up tall ceilings, which had not been obvious in the photographs. They asked sensible questions, showed us where the first idea would have caused problems and set out the revised layout clearly. They did not promise that the first sketch was perfect. The second version was much better because it reflected how we actually use the room.”

“The reason for ordering a fitted wardrobe was simple: we wanted to use an awkward recess for long hanging, drawers, shoes and luggage. The solution was not simple, though. Because the room is in Barcelona, we asked specifically about narrow lifts and stair turns; it was covered in the proposed sequence. We were given two sensible routes, with the cost difference explained, and chose without feeling rushed. The finish has been easy to maintain, which mattered to us as much as the appearance.”
